"Tobacco: Threat to our Environment" 

World No Tobacco Day was celebrated on 31st May at Guru Nanak Dev Dental College and Research Institute, Sunam. On this occasion, a dental screening and treatment camp was organised by the Dept. of Public Health Dentistry. Educational "Nukaad Natak" (Role Play) was presented in front of the villagers to make them aware about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption as tobacco is killing us as well as our planet. Various other activities were also included: Distribution of Health educational pamphlets, lecture on warning signs of oral cancer including tips for its prevention. The negative impacts of tobacco on human health and the environment were highlighted to influence people to take initiative to keep themselves and the environment safe from tobacco.
